Lizzy Wilkinson

AKA Taffi Imms

Fortunate to have had a varied career which was always based in creativity, Lizzy is now retired and living in South Lincolnshire, rekindling her desire to embrace her passion for all things creative.

Her work includes the use of textiles, photography, aquarelle, acrylic & oil.

Originally from Hertfordshire, where she obtained her qualification in Display from BDS with merit back in the 1960’s, she also taught part-time alongside freelancing as a Display Stylist, before moving to Surrey where her interest in photography was ignited.

Following time in the fashion retail business with her sister, and wanting to pursue her interest in photography, she returned to freelancing as a Display Stylist in order to accommodate this desire.

The study culminated in her being nominated for a prestigious BTEC award by her tutors and at the award ceremony in London Lizzy was presented with a Bronze medal by the Duke of Kent.

This resulted in being offered a placement on a Post Graduate course at what was then The Bournemouth & Poole College of Art & Design, and whilst there she successfully submitted a panel to the Royal Photographic Society and was awarded FRPS status as well as qualifying for ABIPP

Her Post Graduate qualification was in a pre-digital era and so all effects were constructed in the darkroom or the studio, and a solo exhibition at the Ice House, Holland Park followed soon afterwards.

Though not trained in floristry Lizzy also obtained floristry commissions from Haymarket publishing for their award ceremonies in various London locations including Grosvenor House, Hilton Park Lane, and Battersea Park etc.

She was also approached to Style, Dress and Host Hospitality suites in places like the Royal Albert Hall, O2 and Wembley Arena primarily for Cliff Richard, also a one-off for David Gilmour, her styling, floristry and painting skills were all put to good use, as she was able to decorate the rooms and feature her large scale paintings to compliment the decor.

Lizzy also showed her artwork on the rails at Bayswater Road, backing on to Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens, Westminster, under her pseudo name of Taffi Imms.

Lizzy’s style is usually of a feminine nature, and by utilising different techniques fulfils her desire to capture the beauty of fleeting and very special moments in time, whether it be figurative, flora or fauna.
